Much of New Jersey and Greater Philadelphia could see up to 8 inches in a storm expected to sweep the region late Saturday through Sunday  afternoon, the National Weather Service reports.

The northernmost parts of New Jersey (Morris, Sussex and Warren counties), along with the Poconos and the Lehigh Valley are looking at between 4 and 6 inches of snow, the NWS says.

Meanwhile, South Jersey could only get a few inches of snow, if not heavy rain, according to the NWS.

Snowfall is expected to begin late Saturday night and end sometime Sunday afternoon, with the heaviest bands expected between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Things should taper off around 4 p.m., meteorologists say.

Winter storm watches were in effect for much of New Jersey, along with parts of Bucks, Montgomery and West Chester counties, Pennsylvania.

The upcoming winter storm was not expected to reach the same magnitude as that of last Monday's, AccuWeather meteorologists say.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more predictions.
